Carissa Cruz

Carissa did research on red-eared sliders with me in the chelonian research lab at the UC Irvine.  After graduating, she continued to work in the lab, completing her research project and overseeing animal care while applying for admission to veterinary schools. Carissa just completed her first year at the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Rahul Rana

Rahul researched the effects of shunting in red-eared sliders and whether blood lactate accumulated faster in forced submerged turtles that could not shunt.  In 2013, Rahul was awarded an APS Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship to complete this research.  After graduating, Rahul completed an internship in Washington D.C. and is currently working in Irvine, CA.
